Methods for reducing wear of rubber conveyor belts

20th July 2023

During the operation of the machine, it can be said that the workload of the conveyor belt is very large every day, and sometimes there is wear and tear on the belt during the working process. These situations are generally unavoidable, but we can minimize their occurrence as much as possible. Below, we will introduce methods for reducing wear and tear on conveyor belts and belts:

1. The feeding port should be located directly above the drum or roller;

2. To reduce the impact and wear of materials on the tape, the feeding direction should follow the running direction of the tape;

3. The drop of materials onto the tape should be minimized as much as possible;

4. The material receiving section of the tape should shorten the distance between the rollers and take buffering measures. To prevent scratching the adhesive tape, the contact parts between the retaining device, scraper cleaning device, and unloading device and the adhesive tape should be made of rubber plates with appropriate hardness, and adhesive tape heads with cloth layers should not be used; Herringbone rubber conveyor belt

5. Check the roller drum every day and replace it in a timely manner if it cannot operate properly. Also, check if there are any attachments on the roller drum and clean it in a timely manner.

6. All conveyor belts must be connected in a circular shape before they can be used, that is, circular conveyor belts. Therefore, the quality of conveyor belt joints directly affects the service life of the conveyor belt and whether the conveyor line can run smoothly and smoothly. The commonly used methods for conveyor belt joints include mechanical joints, cold bonding joints, hot vulcanization joints, etc. Rubber conveyor belt

7. The running speed of the rubber conveyor belt should not exceed 5.0 meters per second. Low speed should be used as much as possible when transporting materials with large block size and high wear resistance, and when using a fixed plow type unloading device. When the transportation speed of the rubber conveyor belt exceeds this speed, it will affect the service life of the conveyor belt. So it is recommended to ensure that the transportation speed does not exceed 5.0 meters/second when using.
