Belt conveyor - conveying sludge

15th November 2018

A belt conveyor is a friction driven machine that transports materials in a continuous manner. It can carry out the transportation of broken materials, and can also carry out the transportation of individual articles. It is used for horizontal transportation or inclined transportation and is very convenient to use. The utility model has the advantages of large conveying amount, simple structure, convenient maintenance, low cost and strong versatility. However, when the sludge is transported, the sludge has a high water content, a high viscosity, and is easy to stick, which tends to cause the conveyor belt to run off and slip during the conveying process, which seriously affects the service life of the belt. Moreover, the belt conveyor is greatly affected by the site. It is generally required to construct a long belt corridor. The lifting height is limited, and the general inclination angle is not more than 20 degrees. Choosing this type of transportation requires high civil construction costs and a large site.

The belt conveyor is suitable for the transportation of sludge after drying with a water content of 40% or less in terms of sludge transportation. Suitable for short-distance (less than 50m), low-lift (less than 20m) sludge transport, often used to transport the hot-dried sludge to a designated location.

The belt conveyor can realize the change of the conveying inclination by setting the steering device. However, when the conveying direction of the plane is turned, it is generally necessary to add a first-stage conveying device.
